Food
Food is a type of item in Boing Boing Animals used to increase a slime's fullness and their growth EXP. Different types of foods can affect the slime's next stage of growth.
Usage

Slimes can be fed once their fullness reaches 85% or below, as long as they are not sick. When a slime is hungry, they will be stationary and a bubble with a fork and knife appears over their head. The player can access the food menu using the fork and knife button at the top, which is the second button from the left. They can then drag the food to the slime, who will consume it in three bites.
Behavior
Each food item given to a slime increases their fullness by 25%. Every slime has a particular favorite food, which will be highlighted in blue. If the slime eats their favorite food, the amount of growth EXP received after consumption will increase. Eating food will also restore some of a slime's lost HP.
Food provided to a slime will be recorded for their particular stage of growth until they become an adult. This can be viewed by tapping on a specific slime, pressing the hamburger menu in the top-right corner of the screen and selecting the fork and knife icon directly below the menu button. Players may use this as reference for growing a particular slime.
Growth
Upon reaching 100% growth EXP, the highest quantity of food given to a slime will count toward its growth requirement. For instance, giving a Baby Slime 3 bones, 1 seed, and 2 meat will cause it to grow into a Kiddo Puppy because it is the only kiddo that evolves from bones. Feeding a Baby Slime only meat gives it the possibility of growing into a Kiddo Puppy, Kiddo Bear or Kiddo Cat because all of them include meat as a growth requirement.
Types
Foods that can be grouped into two categories:
- Normal food - Labelled as "Food" in the Item Info screen, these foods are available at the start of the game and can be provided infinitely without having to refill at the store. Each regular food is linked to at least one kiddo as a growth requirement. There are 10 starter food types.
- Special Food - These food types are unlocked upon purchasing certain themes, which are indicated on their description in the store. The player will be given 5 of a special food after purchasing the associated theme and that particular food will be included as a possible item to buy in the store. Special foods generally influence later stages of growth, with the exception of the Iron Ingot. There are 9 special food types.
